A New Restaurant for Health Foodies

*This review is not sponsored.

Health foodies in the North Texas area have an excellent opportunity to indulge their taste buds at Wicked BOLD Vegan Kitchen like we’ve never seen before.

When I started paying attention to what my family and I were eating 26 years ago, I wouldn’t have dreamed we could walk into a vegan charcuterie or that we would see this come to the table.

Cheese & Crackers from the Small Plates menu ($15). Top to bottom: Dill Havarti made with soy and coconut, perfectly ripe fresh fruit, gluten-free crackers, and Mindful Mortal mozzarella made with cashew and coconut.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

Nosh Board ($30). Left to right: cucumbers, pistachios, herbed cheddar made from soy, cashew, and coconut; walnuts, pepperoni (contains wheat), honey ham (contains wheat), carrots, star fruit, more pistachios, gluten-free crackers, and strawberries.

Star rating: 3 out of 5 stars, mainly because I am allergic to wheat and couldn’t try the veggie meats. The (delicately) herbed cheddar and crackers hit the spot and seeing star fruit on the board was a happy surprise. Beautiful, fresh fruit is refreshing on a hot day.

One of the tastiest Caprese salads we’ve ever had. The tomatoes were fresh, juicy, and flavorful. The balsamic glaze, luscious. We didn’t leave a drop of it on the slab. Slices of Mindful Mortal mozzarella made with cashew and coconut were creamy, soft, and perfect.

Star rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

Fondue Board from the Dessert First menu (not pictured, $14.00). My giddy, inner child had permission to start with the chocolate when they called it Dessert First. Creamy, delicious chocolate fondue ready to coat a variety of fruit, including berries and apples, were eaten before I took a picture. Imagine a bowl of rich, perfectly-melted chocolate and perfectly ripe fruit to dip into it. I would choose this again on a repeat visit and hopefully be able to restrain myself long enough to take a picture. I’m not promising, but I promise to try.

Fondue Board rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

Every plate of food you just saw started with one family’s desire to eat healthy chocolate. They started by making chocolate and they are good at it! We’ve tried all four varieties of Wicked BOLD vegan chocolates and recommend them all.

You can order Wicked BOLD chocolates through their website: https://wickedbold.com/ where you’ll also be able to read the many menu items we didn’t try, including the mocktails.

It’s refreshing to go to a restaurant and trust everything on the menu. There were gluten-free options for almost everything. We left full, happy, and didn’t crave salad for dinner because we ate clean. But it didn’t feel like it.

On our next visit we’ll get our favorites and try the Kin Spritz and Kin Lightwave from the More Drinks menu.

My fond wish is that Wicked BOLD Vegan Kitchen is a huge success. Words I’d use to describe this restaurant are wicked fresh, wicked smart, and wicked tasty.
