Five Things Friday — Vol. 2
Five Inspiring Things Friday — Vol. 2
Inspiration is contagious and we get to catch up on some of what’s going on in my life.
- The exponential value of being close to non-judgmental people. It took 49 years to meet and get close to someone who doesn’t just allow, accept, or tolerate the way other’s live their lives. This is a person who is the definition of humble, which is already extraordinary. Then there’s the healing I’ve been feeling. Everything about my life is improving. Seeing how it’s done has changed the way I think and act. If you have someone like this in your life, you are blessed and I’m happy for you. If you don’t already have someone like this in your life, I sincerely hope you find one soon.
2. Jurassic World Exhibition with my daughter.
Over the years my family and I have collectively enjoyed the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies, watching them repeatedly. When I saw that Jurassic World: The Exhibition was in the Dallas area, I knew we had to check it out.
Seeing the lab, the gyroscope (please, please, please let me ride in one someday), and how far animatronics have come was exciting. Above all, it was sharing those moments with my daughter. I was entertained by the baby dinos. She was ecstatic.
I got to talk about memory lane, when my parents, siblings, and niece went to the San Diego, CA zoo back in the early 1990’s. That day we saw their state-of-the-art dino exhibit. All before I knew I would have a daughter of my own one day. And that she would be into seeing dinosaurs with me.
Time will tell if in the future we take granddaughter to see dinosaurs and tell her about this trip.
3. Sometimes there is a miracle product.
Badger After-Bug Balm (show a pic of the product). Copious amounts of mosquito repellant didn’t stop this one biter from taking a big drink out of my calf. For the first time in my life as a frequent mosquito entrée, I am not scratching the bite. Even at night. The balm smells like peppermint, is cooling as promised on the label, and it cleared up my eczema patch! 5-star rating. Summer is more fun again. I can still remember a time when I didn’t react so much to the bites and I’m hopeful that my body can get back to that.
4. Fast, Fragrant, Flavorful Snacks
On the way home from Natural grocers these strawberries, blueberries, and bananas were on the seat next to me. I drooled all the way home. As soon as the groceries were infused with Reiki and put away, I made this fruit salad and devoured it.
5. Groups who meet with the intention of inspiration and empowerment.
I’ve been fortunate to be part of a few of these. My fellow group members often share stories of how much better their lives are because of our mutual support. We have individually and collectively reached new heights. There’s no magic formula for what we do during our time together. Simply getting together with the clear intention to inspire and empower is all you need to grow the fun way.
Your inspired friend,
