Wisdom Wednesday — Creating Mental Peace
How can we live an inspired life this week?*
Observe your thoughts, allowing them to flow through without judging or engaging with them for a few days at a time this week. You can observe where your brain goes, which is illuminating. After a few days or when you feel guided to, start working with the thoughts that don’t go away.
Many thoughts will simply go by, resulting in more mental real estate (a.k.a. peace). There can be a surprising amount of energy to put into more productive tasks that would have been spent on engaging with thoughts that didn’t have a base.
In the case of negative thoughts about other people or yourself, you can move into a space of appreciating them and yourself instead of creating a purposeless energy drain.
For thoughts that don’t go away, try this technique from my book, Keep It Simple: Permission to Illuminate Your Life Easily, Effortlessly, & Joyfully.**
In a meditative or relaxed state, observe your reactions to each statement in relation to persistent thoughts.
Relax — it’s under control and no action is needed right now.
Take action right away!
I need more information before I can make a choice.
Proceed with the one that feels the best to you in your mind (thoughts), body (look for things like emotions, pain, or holding your breath), and spirit (it just feels right. Or wrong.)
What will you do with the extra energy? Relax? Enjoy bird calls? Go for a longer walk? All of the above?
Enjoy your newfound clarity and focus.
It can be that easy. Allow it to be that easy.

Gina
*This card was drawn from the Inspirate With Gina deck written by me, Gina Briganti. It’s where I go to seek the wisdom of our higher power, guides, and ancestors. They blazed a trail and want to see us live our most inspired life. The cards are an easy space for them to communicate
